We had a good experience with Inspired homes when renovating our house because both me and my husband were quite clueless with alot of technicalities that came with the house. Janet and Keith walked us through many hours of meeting, patiently explaining and answering all the questions we had. When we collected our keys and did a walk through with them, Janet and Keith were so thorough catching alot of issues that we otherwise would not have caught it. There were so many hours of meetings that made us super drained but Janet, Keith and Venice really pushed us on because it was needed. This is what I appreciated because so many parts were very complicated and they just really went through one by one. Granted every reno there will be unexpected issues that pop up, problems that crop up along the way but I am very thankful that Janet, Keith and Venice are VERY responsive and responded and settled as quickly as they could. I think the important part is not expecting there will not be problems but knowing Janet, Keith and Venice has my back is very comforting. As with every reno there will be slight delays, do expect it because there is alot at the end to settle but once again, Janet and Keith really helped me in post reno cleaning because they knew my circumstances, they went above and beyond in this aspect especially because my whole family was down with Influenza A just before the move so they did me huge favours by cleaning repeatedly before I moved in. This is totally not something they should do but something they did out of goodwill to help me. The house was really clean and easy for movers to move things in. Design wise, there are so many modifications made by Janet that made so much sense that I wouldnt have even thought of it so am really thankful because she really does think for long term and I really trust her foresight. Her design made so much sense for my house that she made this home very user friendly for all of us. Keith absolutely does his best to settle all sorts of issues, He is so so reassuring that literally 1 call and his words are “dont worry i settle” Venice our project manager is young but she really responds so quickly and overall you just feel seen and heard. We recently completed a major renovation of our 40-year-old house, and overall it has been a very pleasant experience working with Janet and Keith. Before making our decision, we spoke with around 10 different interior designers, builders, and contractors. We eventually chose Janet and Keith not only because their proposal was the most exciting and transformative. We’ve also visited one of their completed project and spoke directly with their previous client to make sure they are experienced in what they promised. Their quotation was on the higher side compared to many of the others we received. However, I would say it was honest and transparent, with no hidden costs. Before starting our renovation, I had heard many stories about contractors relying heavily on VOs to significantly increase the final bill. In our case, every VO was due to changes that we personally requested during the renovation. There were no surprise charges or unnecessary add-ons. After signing, we were assigned an assistant designer and a project administrator. Like many renovation projects, there were occasional communication and execution issues along the way. But Janet and Keith always responded promptly whenever we reached out. They were hands-on, took ownership of problems, and made sure issues were resolved quickly. In some cases, they even went the extra mile by making thoughtful improvements before we realized, simply because they believed it would make the house more functional or aesthetically pleasing. One of our biggest challenges was being overseas for four months during the renovation. Janet took full ownership of the project, keeping us updated with regular photos and progress reports, which gave us complete peace of mind. When we returned, our home was nearly completed, on schedule, and any minor defects were rectified promptly before handover. No renovation is ever stress-free, especially for an older house. Janet and Keith were honest, responsive, accountable, and committed to quality throughout. Execution? Workmanship? Most will say it is a combination of all. But the most important quality is mutual trust. My wife and I are privileged to have worked with Keith, Janet and Venice, a team whom we trusted to transform our place. While we spoke with several design & build contractors before deciding on Inspired Homes, none of those were able to give us the feeling of assurance and trust. Our first meet up was casual, over a cup of coffee, but we left the meeting inspired by ideas on how we could transform our place. Any doubts or questions we had were quickly addressed by Keith & Janet on the spot. I was impressed by their knowledge of what we could and could not do. No fluff and up selling, but honest and candid responses, that gave us the assurance that we’d be in good hands if we went with them.
