SITE ENGINEER

I’m Kathappan Palanisamy, a Civil Engineering professional with experience in both India and Singapore. My work in the construction industry has given me practical exposure to residential projects, site supervision, coordination, and building works.

I enjoy being involved in different stages of a project, from understanding drawings and planning site activities to monitoring workmanship and resolving on-site challenges. I work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to keep the work organised and progressing smoothly.

One of the things I value most in my work is finding practical solutions when unexpected issues arise on site. I believe clear communication, proper coordination, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential for achieving good results.

I am always interested in learning new construction methods and improving my technical knowledge and skills. I aim to contribute positively to every project I work on while maintaining good quality, safety, and efficiency. I also believe that being responsible, honest, and willing to learn helps build strong working relationships and leads to successful projects.

My goal is to continue growing as a construction professional, take on new challenges, and contribute my knowledge

tun lin myat

site coordinator

My name is Tun Lin Myat, and I am also known as Lin. I have over four years of experience in the construction industry, primarily working on residential projects as a Site Coordinator.

In my role, I support daily site operations, coordinate closely with supervisors and workers, and help ensure that construction activities progress smoothly according to the project schedule.

I enjoy working on-site rather than in an office environment, as I prefer a hands-on and dynamic workplace. Being on-site allows me to better understand construction processes, monitor progress effectively, and communicate directly with the team to resolve issues efficiently.

Throughout my career, I have developed strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills. I am a responsible and hardworking individual who is always eager to learn and improve. My goal is to continue gaining experience in the construction field and grow into a role with greater responsibility in the future.

Janet Cheng

Project Director

“A home should not just look good, it should feel right to live in.”

I’ve been in the renovation and design industry since 1996.

When I first started, my focus was mainly on interior design. Over time, as I worked on more projects, I realised that design alone is never enough. What looks good on paper still has to work in real life, and more importantly, it has to be built properly.

That gradually led me to become more involved in the building side of things as well.

Over the years, I’ve worked on many projects from start to completion. With experience, you start to notice certain patterns. There are details that may seem small at the beginning, but if they are missed, they can turn into bigger issues later on site.

Because of that, I tend to look at things quite carefully from the start. Whether it’s layout, proportions, or how different elements come together, I try to catch potential problems early before they become costly to fix.

At the same time, I still believe that a home should suit the way each family lives.
Every household is different. Some prioritise open spaces, some need more storage, some want privacy. These are things that cannot be copied from one project to another.

So while we pay attention to the technical side, I also spend time understanding how the space will actually be used day to day. The goal is not just to create something that looks good at the beginning, but something that continues to work well over time.

Keith Low

Director

“There is no substitute for being authentic and genuine.”

I started Inspired Homes together with my wife, Janet, in 2012.

At the beginning, it was simply an interest in renovation. But as we took on more projects, I started noticing the same issues coming up again and again.

Homeowners would come in with ideas and expectations. Everything looked good at the start. But somewhere along the way, things would change. Costs shifted, designs had to be adjusted, and some problems only showed up when work had already started on site.

Most of the time, it wasn’t because the ideas were wrong. It was because certain things were not properly thought through from the beginning.

Over time, that changed the way I look at projects. I’ve also been involved in projects where different parties were handling different parts of the job — designers, architects, contractors. On paper, it sounds organised. But in reality, when something goes wrong on site, it’s not always clear who is responsible. Things get delayed, and small issues can become bigger ones.

That’s why I prefer to keep things clear and straightforward, with one team taking responsibility from start to finish. Today, I’m mainly involved in site operations and overall project direction. I work closely with our team and subcontractors to make sure what is planned can actually be carried out properly. Because in this line of work, what happens on site matters just as much as what is drawn on paper.

I tend to be quite direct in how I communicate. That applies to both my team and our clients. It’s not about being harsh. It’s about being clear.

If something is likely to cause problems later, I would rather point it out early. It’s always easier to adjust at the start than to fix it halfway through construction.
As a company, we place a lot of emphasis on planning, coordination, and accountability. These are not the most obvious parts of a project, but they make a big difference to how smoothly things go.

At the end of the day, my focus is simple. Do the job properly, and be responsible for what we build.

I have a very good experience with Inspired Homes and really pleasant to work with them. Jan and her teams were very helpful and friendly, they were really quick to respond to our messages and queries, even after the project’s completion.

They took my needs and requirement into consideration and worked according to them to create our wonderful home.

I’m very happy and satisfied to have picked Inspired Homes. I will give them a 10/10 and definitely recommend them to my family and friends!

Trustworthy, experienced and reliable ! I am impressed by their professionalism and attention to details and dedication to delivering an exceptional outcome.

Jan is patient and willing to listen to ideas yet enhancing the ideas of ours. Will definitely recommend to my friends and relatives.
