My name is Tun Lin Myat, and I am also known as Lin. I have over four years of experience in the construction industry, primarily working on residential projects as a Site Coordinator.

Janet Cheng
Project Director
“A home should not just look good, it should feel right to live in.”
I’ve been in the renovation and design industry since 1996.

When I first started, my focus was mainly on interior design. Over time, as I worked on more projects, I realised that design alone is never enough. What looks good on paper still has to work in real life, and more importantly, it has to be built properly.

That gradually led me to become more involved in the building side of things as well.

Over the years, I’ve worked on many projects from start to completion. With experience, you start to notice certain patterns. There are details that may seem small at the beginning, but if they are missed, they can turn into bigger issues later on site.

Because of that, I tend to look at things quite carefully from the start. Whether it’s layout, proportions, or how different elements come together, I try to catch potential problems early before they become costly to fix.

At the same time, I still believe that a home should suit the way each family lives.
Every household is different. Some prioritise open spaces, some need more storage, some want privacy. These are things that cannot be copied from one project to another.

So while we pay attention to the technical side, I also spend time understanding how the space will actually be used day to day. The goal is not just to create something that looks good at the beginning, but something that continues to work well over time.

Keith Low
Director
“There is no substitute for being authentic and genuine.”
I started Inspired Homes together with my wife, Janet, in 2012.

At the beginning, it was simply an interest in renovation. But as we took on more projects, I started noticing the same issues coming up again and again.

Homeowners would come in with ideas and expectations. Everything looked good at the start. But somewhere along the way, things would change. Costs shifted, designs had to be adjusted, and some problems only showed up when work had already started on site.

Most of the time, it wasn’t because the ideas were wrong. It was because certain things were not properly thought through from the beginning.

Over time, that changed the way I look at projects. I’ve also been involved in projects where different parties were handling different parts of the job — designers, architects, contractors. On paper, it sounds organised. But in reality, when something goes wrong on site, it’s not always clear who is responsible. Things get delayed, and small issues can become bigger ones.

That’s why I prefer to keep things clear and straightforward, with one team taking responsibility from start to finish. Today, I’m mainly involved in site operations and overall project direction. I work closely with our team and subcontractors to make sure what is planned can actually be carried out properly. Because in this line of work, what happens on site matters just as much as what is drawn on paper.

I tend to be quite direct in how I communicate. That applies to both my team and our clients. It’s not about being harsh. It’s about being clear.

If something is likely to cause problems later, I would rather point it out early. It’s always easier to adjust at the start than to fix it halfway through construction.
As a company, we place a lot of emphasis on planning, coordination, and accountability. These are not the most obvious parts of a project, but they make a big difference to how smoothly things go.

At the end of the day, my focus is simple. Do the job properly, and be responsible for what we build.

changi road
A disciplined approach to design — where speed is guided by clarity, and precision defines every decision.
Changi Road is an addition and alteration project shaped by two parallel demands — design integrity and time discipline.

Rather than simply accelerating the process, the project is approached with intention and clarity. Every decision is made with purpose, ensuring that efficiency does not come at the expense of quality.

The design process is carefully structured, allowing progress to remain focused and controlled. Communication plays a central role, acting as the thread that connects each stage — aligning stakeholders, refining outcomes, and maintaining momentum.

The result is a project that moves with precision and confidence, where speed and quality are not in conflict, but resolved through a clear and disciplined approach.

jalan pacheli
A complete redevelopment that redefines the home through clarity of form and a contemporary architectural expression.
Jalan Pacheli is a reconstruction project involving the full redevelopment of the existing house, transforming both its spatial framework and architectural identity.

The design places strong emphasis on the façade, reimagining it as a composed and intentional elevation rather than a collection of elements. A clean and contemporary language is introduced, allowing the architecture to feel both precise and enduring.

Contrasting volumes and layered materials are carefully orchestrated to create depth and structure, giving the façade a sense of balance and rhythm. Each element is considered in relation to the whole, resulting in a cohesive and visually grounded composition.

The outcome is a home that presents a refined, confident presence — where form, proportion, and materiality work together to define a clear architectural identity.

pavillion street
A complete reimagining of the home — where architecture, form, and presence are thoughtfully redefined.
Pavillion Street is a full renovation project, where the intervention extends beyond surface upgrades into a comprehensive rethinking of the house as a whole.

The design begins with a reassessment of the home’s architectural identity, redefining both its spatial experience and external expression. Every element is considered as part of a cohesive whole, ensuring clarity, balance, and intention throughout.

The façade is carefully redesigned to introduce a more contemporary language. Clean volumes, refined material contrasts, and well-proportioned forms come together to create a composition that feels both modern and timeless.

This results in a stronger, more composed street presence — a home that not only functions better internally, but also communicates a clear architectural identity externally.

puay hee
Puay Hee is an addition and alteration project shaped by a distinctive spatial challenge — the introduction of a 2.5-storey configuration within the constraints of the existing envelope.

Rather than pursuing a straightforward extension, the design adopts a more considered approach. Vertical layering becomes the key strategy, allowing the home to expand in capacity while remaining disciplined in form.

Each level is carefully proportioned to maintain spatial continuity and coherence, ensuring that the transition between floors feels natural rather than imposed. Structural clarity is preserved throughout, allowing the intervention to read as both intentional and integrated.

The result is a home that gains new dimension and usability — not through excess, but through precision and thoughtful spatial reconfiguration.

langsat road
A reconstruction project that enables a more comprehensive design intervention, centred around a powerful arrival experience.
Langsat Road is a reconstruction project, allowing for a more comprehensive design intervention.

Given the generous site, the design places emphasis on the arrival experience. A large, carefully proportioned entrance gate is introduced — not merely as a boundary, but as a defining architectural element that sets the tone for the entire house, enhancing both presence and perceived value.

Burghley Drive
A large-scale renovation that reimagines the living framework beyond a simple spatial upgrade.
This project is a large-scale renovation, where the focus goes beyond a simple spatial upgrade to a complete rethinking of the living framework.
The design is driven by the household structure, optimizing room allocation and circulation flow. While ensuring functionality, a more contemporary spatial language is introduced to enhance overall living quality and efficiency.

I have a very good experience with Inspired Homes and really pleasant to work with them. Jan and her teams were very helpful and friendly, they were really quick to respond to our messages and queries, even after the project’s completion.

They took my needs and requirement into consideration and worked according to them to create our wonderful home.

I’m very happy and satisfied to have picked Inspired Homes. I will give them a 10/10 and definitely recommend them to my family and friends!

Trustworthy, experienced and reliable ! I am impressed by their professionalism and attention to details and dedication to delivering an exceptional outcome.

Jan is patient and willing to listen to ideas yet enhancing the ideas of ours. Will definitely recommend to my friends and relatives.

1. I got to know Janet through a friend in 2017. Back then, I was unsure what I wanted, and Janet had patiently guided me to eventually zoom in to doing an A&A for a piece of land that is 3300 sqft.

2. I was honestly very lost and not sure what to do. However, she was very clear in her explanation, and she guided me step by step along the process of getting the design that I wanted, to the approvals required from the government. Once the approval was obtained, she was also very thorough in ensuring that she updated me every step along the A&A works.

3. I must say the quality is awesome, and the workmanship is superb. That is also one major reason why we got featured in the Straits Times in 2019 when the A&A project was completed.

4. From the drawings to the eventual house being built, Janet and Keith has played an integral part in ensuring that our dream home is being built. Their experience has definitely made the process a lot smoother and enjoyable.

5. 4 years have past since the handover, and yet everytime I have issues with the house, Janet will always be there to assist me, from small minor repairs that needs to be done, to major works like the re-painting of my house. Her aftersales service is what makes her so different from all the other developers/contractors that I’ve met.
